Day trips from Balchik: Kaliakra, Tuzlata, Kavarna
Three stops in one day — the legendary cape, the healing mud and the festival town, with comfortable door-to-door transport.
One of the best things about the North Black Sea coast is that the sights are an hour's drive from each other. In a single day you can see a medieval cape full of legends, ancient mud baths and a town with a festival history — as long as someone drives you there.
That is exactly where the taxi comes in. Nobody wants to deal with driving, parking and stress on unfamiliar roads while on holiday. With a pre-arranged ride, you decide when to leave and when to come back — the driver handles everything else.
A route that always works
You start from Balchik in the morning, when it is cool and the light is best for photos. Head first to Cape Kaliakra — about 20 minutes by car. The red cliffs dropping into the sea, the legend of the 40 maidens and the hundreds of birds above your head make the place unlike anything you have seen. From there the road continues to Kavarna. The town is known for its music festivals, but it is also worth walking around the centre and the seaside promenade if you are not in a hurry. The distance Kaliakra–Kavarna is about 10 minutes by car.
A stop at Tuzlata
On the way back to Balchik we always stop at Tuzlata. These are healing mud baths right on the seashore — a place that looks like another world. The mud has been used for centuries for joint problems, and the sunset view is one of the best along the whole coast. Learn more in the Tuzlata page.

My advice: leave at least 4–5 hours for these three places if you really want to enjoy them, not just tick them off. The sunset at Tuzlata is an experience in itself.
